Békés county is located in the southern region of the Great Plain. The seat of the country is Békéscsaba. Gyula and Orosháza are famous for their spas. The county borders Csongrád, Hajdú-Bihar and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties. The area's natural values are guarded and exhibited by the Körös-Maros National Park. The reservation area for great bustards in Dévaványa is a well-known place among naturalists. Hungary is famous for horse traditions. The horse stud in Mezőhegyes stands as a good example of professional caring and traditions. The sausages of Tótkomlós are worth a try, while you can taste many other sausages in the traditional festival in Békéscsaba. The castle plays in Gyula is also well-known. The memorial park of Vésztő-Mágor is an interesting historical sight, íou can visit a beautiful arboretum in Szarvas, or a famous csarda in Kondoros, just to mention the most popular tourist destinations in the county.
