Fejér county (seat:Székesfehérvár) is located in the Central-Transdanubian region. Neighbouring counties are Komárom-Esztergom on the north, Tolna on the south, Pest and Bács-Kiskun on the east, Somogy and Veszprém on the west. Part of the Bakony Mountains and the Vértes lie here, as well as the Velence Mountains. The Donau is a natural border on the eastern side of the county. Its lake is Lake Velence, a popular holiday resort in Hungary. The area between the southern side of Lake Velence and the Somogy-Tolna Hills is called Mezőföld. Mezőföld comprises almost all of the county, and acts as a borderland between the Great Plain and the Transdanubian Highlands. There are several castles in the county, if you visit Mór, Fehérvárcsurgó, Iszkaszentgyörgy, Lovasberény, Csákvár, Dég, Martonvásár, Soponya, Seregélyes or Nádasladány, you can surely find one. Thermal baths and spas are there in Vajta and Agárd. It has two famous and valuable protected nature reserve areas, the bird reservatum in Velence and the Fertő nature reserve area in Dinnyés. It is also worth to visit the castle on Csókakő hill.
