GYENESDIÁS
The resort village of the West Balaton Region

Gyenesdiás is a lovely resortvillage only 100 kilometres away from the western border of Hungary, in the West Balaton Region 15 kilometres from the Fly Balaton Airport. The towns of Keszthely, known for its fascinating Festetics Palace, and Hévíz with its world famous spa are only a few kilometres from here.
Gyenesdiás – with its 3800 inhabitants – is the perfect holiday resort especially for those who want to spend their vacation at the Lake Balaton active and joyful. Private accommodation have a tradition of about 30 years in the village, but tourism has a history of 100 years. High quality B&B's usually with own swimming pool and different wellness services are to be found here, as well as private accommodation for a favourable price. Gyenesdiás has a lot to offer for every age and interest from relaxation to entertainment and wide variety of recreation.

BEACHES
The area started to become a popular tourist destination between 1905 and 1907, after the first public beaches were opened. Two beaches are available for the lovers of bathing, swimming and sunshine in Gyenesdiás: The beach of Diás is today one of the most beautiful and well-founded (about 500 meters long) beach in the region providing a full range of services, such as different kind of restaurants, snack-bars, rental services, sportfields like beach volleyball courts with lights, beach football pitch, tabletennis, streetball court, petanque, chess; sport in the water: waterpolo, heading goals, basketball, volleyball – championships organised by our animation team. If you feel competitive enough, you can even sign up for one of our championships organized daily during the months of July and August. For our little guests a Kids’ Club is available. We also offer free parking lot for cars. The second smaller beach in Gyenes is mostly visited and preferred by families due to its intimate atmosphere.

ACTIVE HOLIDAY
In the hills, valleys and on the water all year

The Lake and its surroundings also offer numerous water sports possibilities: The local sailing-club is more than welcome to take you and your family for an unforgettable sailing trip on the lake. They provide professional help, assistant and guide. The fishing-sites of the local Fishing Association provide excellent opportunities for lovers of this sport where boats can be rented. Lovers of nature can roam about Keszthely Hills to seek relaxation in a wonderful combination of quiet landscape, flora and fauna. Varied forests, plants, look-out towers and rest places make this region attractive for day-trippers. Local riding schools offer their services all year around, attracting a large number of visitors. Have you ever tried skeet shooting? Sport shooting is also available on the shooting course in the nearby of the “Big Meadow” (Nagymező) where National Championships are held yearly. Amateurs are welcome to try themselves in skeet, running and other types of shooting here Tuesdays and Fridays. A really adventurous holiday can’t miss the physical exercise and trial of cycling on the teepy routes, lanes of the hill, or an unforgettable trip around the Lake Balaton.
